Kazakh director Adilkhan Yerzhanov’s feature film “Yellow Cat” will take part in the competition program “Horizons” of the 77th Venice International Film Festival
One of the largest and most prestigious festivals in the world will be held live from 2 to 12 September this year.
The international jury of the “Horizons” program is headed by the famous French filmmaker Claire Denis (“Good work”, “Happy inside”, “Aristocratic society”). The film “Yellow Cat” was shot by Short Brothers (Kazakhstan), ZERDE FILMS (Kazakhstan) with the participation of Kazakhfilm JSC named after Sh. Aimanov (Kazakhstan) and Arizona Productions (France). “Yellow Cat” is the ninth feature film directed by Adilkhan Yerzhanov. The shooting took place last year in Almaty region.
The main producers of the film are Assel Saduakasova, Kanat Bitemirov and Yerbol Toybayev.
The film tells the story of Kazakhstan’s “Bonnie and Clyde”.
A young man named Kermek, who had just returned from prison, found that a certain criminal group had set up its own laws in his hometown.
Her lover, Eva, also went astray under the pressure of these people, and Kermek was forced to commit a crime.
